As an association management firm, we build and manage a lot of client web sites. Just because we know there are millions of amazing site designs out there, we take a few minutes each day to surf. Nonprofit web sites are peculiar.
The charities pretty much let you know what they are passionate about right away on the home page. That’s good. Engagement is the first goal. But, business associations can be very dry. Would it kill them to employ a bit of humor? At the very least, say why someone should belong to your association. Never make anyone “Click to Enter.” Your member or target is already there. Just sayin’.
